Is There A More Complete CM Than Herrera? Arsenal haven't progressed in the slightest, shout the Mailboxers. United are bloody rubbish too. But is there a more complete midfielder in the PL than Ander Herrera? Last Updated: 18/05/15 at 09:32

Arsenal Conclusions So a decent result but indifferent performance. At least we got the point required to finish 3rd/2nd. Cazorla has been receiving a lot of praise for his performances in central midfield this season, but his reposition was out of necessity rather than design, injuries to other midfielders required him moving deeper. Cazorla has done an admirable job giving discipline and composure to the midfield, not unlike Arteta when he originally started playing there. What we have lost with Cazorla in CM is Ramsey's energy, power and drive. Cazorla was overpowered in CM yesterday as he has been in a fair few matches which have gone unreported because the team was winning and he still brings that composure and class. Ramsey's reshuffle back to the centre has shown us what we've been missing there. It turned the game and bought us right back in it. Ramsey should play in CM, its better for him, and better for the team. Wenger has to make a choice between which on his top-class AMs - Cazorla and Ozil - gets to complete the midfield. Guess that's what happens when you keep overloading your squad with players who want to play centrally! PS. Looks like Giroud is back in form - this is his actual level - that purple patch earlier was the anomaly. Shaz (is progress finishing with less points from the previous season?) N19 I've seen a number of Arsenal fans who are happy with a point following yesterday's game at Old Trafford. This mentality is exactly why Arsenal have not won anything major for 10 years and need some serious investment in the summer if we are to challenge. This United side is not only in need of a huge overhaul in the summer, the starting line-up was also missing its two most influential outfield players - Rooney and Carrick. Man for man, comparing both starting 11s, Arsenal were better in about eight of the 11 positions. So naturally this was a huge opportunity of Arsenal to end their Old Trafford hoodoo over the last 10 years. Right? Well, you would assume that, but you must have thought Arsenal's season was well and truly over during the first period. No effort, no desire and very little tactical nous. United weren't even that good, but they were made to look absolutely brilliant by an abject first-half performance. We had once again dug ourselves into a hole against one of the worst United teams I've seen in my life.
