Leeds set to sign Sunderland winger Will Buckley on loan, Sky sources understand Sunderland winger Will Buckley will train with Leeds United this week ahead of signing on an emergency loan deal until January, according to Sky sources. The 25-year-old has not featured in any match-day squad for the Black Cats this season and the move is expected to be completed next week. Buckley was signed for Sunderland in August 2014 by former manager Gus Poyet, who nurtured the player at their previous club Brighton in the Championship. Buckley was signed for £2.5m but he made just nine starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League last season, and made just one start after New Year's Day. The Oldham-born attacker began his career at Rochdale, where he broke into the first team at 18 years old in 2008. He moved to Watford on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2010 and made almost 50 appearances for the club, scoring five goals, before securing a move to Brighton for £1m in June 2011. Buckley played over 100 times for Brighton and scored 19 league goals in three seasons with the south coast club.
